How's everyone doing for food? I'm sure the guys in tesco are doing absoluetly fine lol... but I know that some of us aren't in a position to get food so easily and either don't have any or are at least running low.
I'm in a cinema (up in the projection room) and am making a plan to get down to the food court. There's not much I can get... mostly sugary snacks, but it's better than nothing and will have to do for now.
I was just wondering how everyone else is doing and if anyone has any tips on surviving on very little.

Just a quick thing. I read your plan of action on the blog (http://shotgunsally.tumblr.com/post/789351733/food) and i'm just warning. watch out with the hammer. it'll go into the skull quick but don't try too hard on getting it back. if that gets stuck and you spend too long trying to pull it back out it could be the end of you. use it as a last resort.

Thanks for the advice... but it is the best thing I have to hand at the moment. I've just found a drill too. So am charging that up and attatching the biggest drill bit I can find. Unfortunately I don't have anything that can be used at a distance. If I see any zombies, I'd rather run than get close enough to use my weapons

You said you have films in there with you right? old cinema reels are really easy to go up in flames. If you have any well old reels in there. as you run along run it across the ground. in your way back in any zombies attack from one side. jump to the safe side of the reel and set it alight. they wont get past too easy.
although that could set the cinema in flames..........

You're right! why didn't I think of that! We've got tons of old film reels. and as long as I don't set 'em aliught near anything else flammable (like just in the middle of the lobby) it'll just burn out anyway, so I wont be risking burning the building down. Thanks for that

For food and water we are pretty damn good. At the beginning of the infection I stocked up from my local shop. Took a lot of trips but half my living room was full. When peter joined me we also took in his lot of food leading to a full stock room for us to work off. Due to not knowing how long we have to live off this we are still starving our selves and only eating when we really need it.

Ah. We've got enough food to last us a couple more days.
I heard about the contamination thing. It's a good thing you don't get many drinking-water taps in B&Q. So we had bottled water. Shame it's running out fast.
What was the maximum amount of days you can go without water? Two days? I dunno.
Anyway, what I'm saying is, we're fine for the moment. We'll need to re-stock. Or just migrate to an asdas or something. :/
Take care, everyone. We can't lose any of you.

I've managed to restock my supplies of food and water... unfortunately I can't drink from my tap water anymore, so I've had to load up on bottled water too I've blogged about how I got it and "Debra" who I found in the store room shotgunsally.tumblr.com/I feel so alone right now... I don't know if I can go on like this. I miss Dean x

I've got food, and since we were planning an intense backpacking trip, we also have an incredibly powerful water filter. I've decided to trust the tap water once run through this thing. I haven't seen any blood yet, so hopefully it's okay...

I've got whatever is in the electronic store (I haven't fully explored it) and a bag of these disgusting ginger-garlic-sesame-paprika soy chips Tom likes.
Well, it's better than nothing

a quick check on google tells me you can drink rain water, so long as you collect it in something clean. wells are best though (although i'm not sure we're living in the middle ages) might be best to filter it if you have the capability though... www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/wea00/wea00044.htmthat link told me what i needed to know - gonna try it!

I know im not supposed to post in here, since my situation in Singapore is a little different, but here are some tips I have that might relate. From what We at Compound have seen, zombies don't feel pain. So lighting a fire in front of them probably won't faze them a bit. As far as food and water, its always a struggle for us. If you've even read my blog you might know we have 212 people in Compound, here in Singapore. And we have to feed them all. Rations are small, and only the toughest survive. Mercs, like me, have it a little better, we have larger rations. We have been growing some crops on the roof, but its too soon to get anything out of them yet. Water is less of a concern, Singapore's water system was very tightly controlled, so no blood in the water yet. We also collect rainwater and drink that too, as it rains almost every day here. So yeah, hope this all helps. if you want to learn more about our situation... zombiesingapore.tumblr.com
